“Sorry, there’s no magic bullet. You have got to eat healthy and live healthy to be healthy and look healthy. End of story.”

The Skin

Being the largest organ in the human body, the skin serves as the primary barrier between the interior and the outside world.

The primary components of skin are collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid, and they are crucial for preserving the skin's hydration and structure.

Collagen Family
The 28 distinct proteins that make up the collagen family make up between 25% and 35% of all the proteins in mammals. In human skin, type I collagen makes approximately 80% of the total amount of collagen, whereas type III collagen accounts for the remaining 15%. Fibroblasts are the primary producers of collagen in the skin.

Hydrolyzed Collagen

Small, low-molecular-weight peptides rich in the amino acids glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline make up hydrolyzed collagen. Hydrolyzed collagen is easily digested, absorbed, transported throughout various body tissues because of its low molecular weight.

Skin Damage
Skin degeneration can be brought on by environmental factors, aging naturally, and dermatological problems. It is possible that prolonged sun exposure, alcohol use, and smoking (extrinsic components) will hasten this damage to structure and function. The occurrence of dark spots, wrinkles, and thicker skin can all result from these conditions.

Remedy
Collagen peptides have been shown to be effective in treating various skin properties including hydration, elasticity, and wrinkle reduction, in a number of controlled clinical trials to date. More recently, several therapeutic formulations of hydrolyzed collagen have been developed to address the signs and symptoms of ageing skin.
